Terms of Service & Privacy Policy as of 10/4/19

Our materials are branded for and content usage rights are sold to healthcare organizations and other providers for free distribution to end users such as patients, families, clinicians, etc. The content may not be resold, reproduced, photocopied, or otherwise copied for any reason without permission of the publisher, Quality of Life Publishing Co. (QOL).

All electronic documents are protected by Vidi, a digital rights management (DRM) service. By viewing the links or downloading and viewing the PDFs, you agree to our terms of service, as well as any of the DRM provider’s terms of service which may be applicable to you (see below). QOL uses this DRM service to protect our material against copyright infringement. The data collected by the DRM service is used for billing purposes ONLY. QOL will not share the data (except for data on file usage as is required for billing) and we will never sell user data.

If you cannot agree to these terms of service, please contact the organization that distributed your materials to request a printed copy or contact QOL directly. Information collected automatically

Whenever you interact with Vidi’s Services, Vidi automatically receives and records information on Vidi’s server logs from your browser or device, which may include your IP address, geolocation data, device identification, “cookie” information, the type of browser and/or device you’re using to access Vidi’s Services, and the page or feature you requested.

“Cookies” are identifiers Vidi transfers to your browser or device that allows Vidi to recognize your browser or device and tells Vidi how and when pages and features in Vidi’s Services are visited and by how many people. You may be able to change the preferences on your browser or device to prevent or limit your device’s acceptance of cookies, but this may prevent you from taking advantage of some of Vidi’s features.

If you click on a link to a third party website or service, such third party may also transmit cookies to you. This Privacy Policy does not cover the use of cookies by any third parties, and Vidi is not responsible for their privacy policies and practices.

When Vidi collects the usage information described above, Vidi only uses this data in aggregate form, and not in a manner that would identify you personally. For example, this aggregate data can tell Vidi how often users use a particular feature of the Services, and Vidi can use that knowledge to make the Services interesting to as many users as possible.

Will Vidi share any of the personal information it receives?

Vidi maintains strict privacy practices with all user data as described in this section:

  • Personal data generated with the assonated user account [tracked data] is inaccessible due to the architecture of Vidi (one way encryption).
  • Data generated by the assonated user account [tracked data] is never shared with affiliates or third parties.
  • Personal data such as name, email, credit card(s) and other personal account details are used with third party services for credit card authentication and email sending. Vidi chooses select partners with high regard to data security and privacy. (NOT APPLICABLE TO END USERS: END USERS WILL NOT BE ASKED TO ENTER THIS INFORMATION.)

Is personal information about me secure?

QOL’s account is protected by a password for privacy and security. If the account is accessed via a third party site or service, there may be additional or different sign-on protections via that third party site or service. Unauthorized access to the account and Personal Information can be prevented by selecting and protecting the account password and/or other sign-on mechanism appropriately and limiting access to the computer or device and browser by signing off after accessing the account. Vidi endeavors to protect the privacy of its clients’ accounts and other Personal Information they hold in their records, but unfortunately, Vidi cannot guarantee complete security. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of user information at any time.
