Heartwarming... Life-Affirming... Comforting

Isabelle, left, and little sister Sophia climb at the playground in the fall before Sophia died unexpectedly and unexplainably in her sleep a week after her first birthday.

Based on the true story of two sisters, Isabelle’s Dream takes the reader on a heartwarming journey from grief to hope.

The story begins as Isabelle gazes out her bedroom window at the stars, wondering where her sister Sophia has gone. She knows Sophia is in Heaven, but where is that? Can Isabelle go there, too, so she and Sophia can be together again?

That night, Sophia visits Isabelle in a dream. Through the beauties of nature, Sophia shows Isabelle the earthly joys that still await her and reassures her that they will be sisters forever.

The book's black-and-white illustrations invite children to bring their own creativity to each page, using crayons, markers, colored pencils, or even glitter glue. After coloring the sisters’ shimmering wings, butterflies, gardens, the earth, and the sea, boys and girls will find several blank activity pages. These pages encourage children to create original drawings or words.

This interactive, therapeutic tool for the grieving child gently begins a dialogue between parent and child, or therapist and child, opening the door to emotional release and healing. Isabelle's Dream also includes “Seven Tips for Parents of Bereaved Children” to help adults understand the needs of a grieving child.
